Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and was raised by an ethnically diverse, multiracial family. Jacqueline's parents are Malaysian as well as Sri Lankan. Her father Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka. She has two brothers and an older sister. Parents moved to Bahrain during the 1980s because of the Lankan tensions and she was born and raised in Bahrain. After graduating from school in Bahrain she received the Scholarship at University of Sydney to pursue a Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. As a lover of all the world of languages and cultures, she took part in the Berlitz school of languages, where she learned to speak Spanish and improved her French as well as Arabic. In 2006 she was named the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006. She also participated at Miss Universe 2006. In the aftermath of winning the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she entered the world of TV and was the host of a show that was a business show in Sri Lanka called Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the child of badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. As a teenager she competed at the national badminton tournaments and international levels. But, she resigned from the sport to make a profession as a designer. Padukone's native language is Konkani. The model is Mangalorean in her origins. Padukone Village is located in Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District of Karnataka within India. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an international badminton player who has retired. Her mom is a traveling agent.
